Shambeau named to Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-Region Team
MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- Wisconsin Lutheran College senior pitcher Michelle Shambeau (Two Rivers, Wis./Manitowoc Lutheran) has been named to the 2008 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III Great Lakes All-Region Second Team, announced Tuesday.

Shambeau, along with fellow Northern Athletics Conference pitcher Anna Snyder from Aurora University, were the only two pitchers to be selected to the Second Team. Seven student-athletes from the NAC made up the 45-member three teams.

A four-time all-conference selection, Shambeau led the NAC with 189.1 innings pitched. She threw 24 complete games in 26 starts, including six shutouts. The senior right-hander finished second in the conference with a career-high 17 wins and 205 strikeouts. Shambeau accounted for 82 percent of Wisconsin Lutheran’s total of innings pitched. For her career, she finished with a record of 48-44, a 2.10 ERA and 667 strikeouts.

Twenty-four out of the 45 student-athletes that comprised the First, Second and Third teams were selected strictly by position. The remaining 21 selections were at-large choices.
