Northern Athletics Conference 2nd Annual
"Cans Across the Conference"
The members of the Northern Athletics Conference Student-Athlete
Advisory Committee (SAAC) wanted to do something together as a
conference that would help in their respective communities. As a
result, the NAC SAAC is initiating “Cans Across the Conference” for
the second-consecutive year.
SAAC is once again organizing the canned food drive
as a community service competition amongst the thirteen institutions
in the NAC. Each campus SAAC will be collecting cans and other
non-perishable items at their school from September 28 through
November 18 to benefit a local charity.
This year, in
addition to food items, one dollar donated will equal two cans. Plus
toiletries (shampoo, soap, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.) will be
counted.
"This is an outstanding project that SAAC and all of the NAC
student-athletes are undertaking. It will benefit many people,"
remarks Dr. G. Steven Larson, commissioner of the Northern Athletics
Conference.
